Photo Blog: Vrboska in the Morning in Early January

  • Published in Blog

The island of Hvar in Croatia. One of the world's most beautiful spots, and one of the country's prime tourist destinations.

In the summer.

Hvar in the winter is arguably even more stunning. Gone are the crowds, the beaches are empty, and the locals all covered in extra layers of clothing.

The fishing villages and towns are reduced to their bare essentials - stone houses, boats and the (usually) tranquil Adriatic.

Places such as Vrboska, home to the main ACI marina and a bustling summer tourist destination, but strikingly pretty out of season, such as in this shot, taken with an iPad in early January.
